This fall’s Blumhouse Haunted Attraction to open up the world of “THE PURGE”
In 2012, Jason Blum’s growing genre production company Blumhouse expanded into a haunted attraction. Located in LA, the Blumhouse of Horrors took attendees into a 1930s-set tale of crazed magician Magi. This year, the filmmaker has teamed with the folks behind the acclaimed Blackout Haunted House to explore the futuristic America of THE PURGE, in which one night a year, your most violent whims are legal for 12 hours.
In an attempt to delve further into James DeMonaco’s film’s mythology, THE PURGE: FEAR THE NIGHT will apparently reveal the road to this New America via shock and awe. It’s described as follows:
It’s a full evening of shocking exploration that plunges you into the terrifying world envisioned in The Purge, where for one horrific night each year, all crime is legal.
Directed by the team that conceived the phenomenally successful Blackout haunted house, THE PURGE: FEAR THE NIGHTgoes way beyond theater, movies or even haunted houses.
As a “delegate” to the New Founding Fathers Convention – which takes place every Purge Night – politicians, patriots, dissidents and traitors will directly engage you.
You will be encouraged to interact with your surroundings and uncover the carefully guarded secrets of Purge Night … and you’ll discover that every action you take can have disturbing consequences.
Within the New Founding Fathers Headquarters, no one is innocent – not even you.
Beginning September 27, THE PURGE: FEAR THE NIGHT will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – with expanded hours during Halloween week.
There will be only two entry periods each evening, and you must arrive for your selected time.
There will be strictly limited capacity each evening … so book your tickets now for an evening of terror and mystery unlike any you’ve ever known.
To visit THE PURGE: FEAR THE NIGHT, you must be 18 or older.
A flaw of the film was its inability to really get out there and open up The Purge and all its implications. Now, it seems in the Variety Arts Theater (940 S. Figueora St) in Los Angeles, we’ll get to live it. THE PURGE: FEAR THE NIGHT gets underway September 27. You can find tickets and more here.
