Enrapturing audiences at Sundance and New York’s New Directors/New Films, Ana Lily Amirpour’s ultra-cool vampire hangout A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT will skate into your heart this fall thanks to a collaboration between Kino Lorber and VICE Media.

Deadline reports the acquisition by Kino Lorber, who does a great deal of the lord’s work in the home video area with Redemption Films, the Mario Bava Collection and more. The company will partner with VICE Media on a theatrical release for A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT this fall, which is exactly the way this hazy, hypnotic piece of work is best experienced.

In A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, already notoriously described as the only Iranian Vampire Western, a chador-donned creature of the night falls in love, skates and stalks the delinquents of ghost town Bad City. The film, written and directed by Amirpour and produced by Spectrevision (Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller and Elijah Wood), world premiered at Sundance to thrilled response.

On the release plans, director Amirpour says, “Shot anamorphic and true cinemascope, this film is something we always wanted people to experience in the cinema. Now they will because of Kino Lorber, a company with smart and daring taste who are as passionate about the theatrical experience of this film as we are.”
