One Sheet, Theatrical Dates for Drafthouse Films’ re-release of ’79 oddity, “THE VISITOR”Movies/TV,News Samuel Zimmerman
On the heels of the reveal Drafthouse Films will be doing remastered justice to Abel Ferrara’s New York revenge classic MS. 45, comes the announcement another of their highly anticipated repertory releases will hit select theaters this Halloween: Michael J. Pardise’s massively insane cosmic Christ film THE VISITOR, starring directors John Huston and Sam Peckinpah, Shelley Winters and Lance Henriksen.
As Drafthouse Films Creative Director Evan Husney finely words it, “This film is from another time, another place and a wholly different dimension, and contains the highest JDPM (jaw-drops-per-minute) ratio out of any movie we’ve ever encountered.” THE VISITOR stars Huston as ‘an intergalactic warrior battling alongside a cosmic Christ figure against a demonic eight-year-old girl and her pet hawk, as the fate of the universe hangs in the balance.’ It’s a cemented favorite of obscure, gonzo film lovers and the “truly something” nature of Drafthouse Films bringing an HD restoration to theaters, as well as VOD and DVD & Blu-ray this winter, cannot be understated.
Below, find the brand new theatrical one-sheet for THE VISITOR. The film hits Los Angeles, New York, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Portland and San Francisco this Halloween weekend.
