“THE SACRAMENT” leads Miami International’s Mayhem; Programmer Comments

Last week the Miami International Film Festival announced the line-up for its popular (and always cleverly curated) Mayhem section, which will feature the North American premiere of Alfredo Montero’s IN DARKNESS WE FALL, Alex de la Iglesia’s WITCHING & BITCHING, James Ward Byrkit’s COHERENCE, and THE SACRAMENT with director Ti West in attendance.

“We have been working on the Mayhem category for a few years now,” Managing Director & Senior Programmer Andres Castillo tells FANGORIA. “We have developed an acute understanding in regards to not only the style of film but the demand from the Miami audience… What’s different from previous years is that these types of films have become more accessible. There are so many options for film selections in this category that we really focused on the quality of the films. We want to give our audience the best possible experience while attending one of our midnight screenings. We want to rock their world and shock their nervous system at the same time!”

Tickets for the fest go on sale next week. For more information, visit the official site and see our reviews of COHERENCE, THE SACRAMENT and WITCHING & BITCHING.
