“THE INVITATION” Hosts a Terrifying Teaser Trailer

If you’re a frequent FANGORIA reader, you’ve likely heard of the title THE INVITATION previous to this article, and likely for good reason. Having seen the film at Mile High Horror this past October, this writer can honestly say that it’s an undeniably chilling and intense experience, and one horror ans are wholly unprepared for until they witness it for themselves. And luckily, with the film less than 2 months away from hitting theaters via Drafthouse Films, the first official teaser trailer for the film captures that atmosphere perfectly.

For those unfamiliar with THE INVITATION, here’s the film’s official synopsis…

In this taut psychological thriller by Karyn Kusama (GIRLFIGHT, JENNIFER’S BODY), the tension is palpable when Will shows up to a dinner party hosted by his ex-wife Eden and new husband David. The estranged divorcees’ tragic past haunts an equally eerie present; amid Eden’s suspicious behavior and her mysterious house guests, Will becomes convinced that his invitation was extended with a hidden agenda. Unfolding over one dark evening in the Hollywood Hills, THE INVITATION blurs layers of mounting paranoia, mystery, and horror until both Will—and the audience—are unsure what threats are real or imagined.

Starring Logan Marshall-Green (DEVIL), Tammy Blanchard (RABBIT HOLE), Emayatzy Corinealdi (HAND OF GOD), Michiel Huisman (GAME OF THRONES), John Carroll Lynch (ZODIAC) and Lindsay Burdge (THE MIDNIGHT SWIM), THE INVITATION will hit select theaters and On-Demand platforms on March 25th. You really should go out of your way to be there; in the meantime, check out our review.
