“THE CONJURING” Sequel Will be Another Summer Shocker

Following the announcement that modern master of horror James Wan will return to helm the sequel to haunter hit THE CONJURING, a new release date has been revealed.

Previously projected for October 2015 and then marked with simply 2016 as it develops, the follow-up will officially arrive on June 10 of that year accompanied by surely ridiculous magic adventure sequel NOW YOU SEE ME 2 and video game adaptation UNCHARTED. No story details have been revealed, but writers Carey and Chad Hayes will return to pen, likely basing the script on another of Lorraine and Ed Warren’s exploits. Stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will also reprise their roles as the paranormal investigating couple. In the first film, they came to the aid of the Perron family, who’re besieged and possessed by a vengeful entity in their new farmhouse.

The first CONJURING was out in July 2013, turning into a summer hit and grossing over $300 million worldwide. And that’s not to mention the film itself is an excellent creeper, designed and directed splendidly by Wan. Also expected in June of 2016 is THE MUMMY, envisioned as the official start to the upcoming shared Universal Monsterverse.
