“THE CONJURING” Sequel, Dated

In addition to creepy doll side stories, the demonology adventures of Ed and Lorraine Warren will continue at Warner Bros., as the studio has set a hard release date for THE CONJURING 2.

Eschewing the summer months, THE CONJURING 2 will instead land directly in spooky season on October 23, 2015. The choice was likely made in avoidance of the very crowded 2015 blockbuster slate (AVENGERS 2, PITCH PERFECT 2…). No additional official word—such as plot focus or if director James Wan is back—is currently available on the film, but stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are expected to return as Lorraine and Ed Warren.

Additionally, Warner Bros./New Line have set an October 3, 2014 date for what’s currently called “Untitled New Line Horror Film.” There’s speculation this could be the CONJURING spin-off focused on the doll, Annabelle, but it is as yet unconfirmed.
