Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016: New Guest, Repertory Screenings Announced!

,,

With the clock ticking down to the big event, horror hounds are excited for the 11th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend, hitting the Hyatt Regency DFW from April 29th to May 1st. And as the official sponsor of the Southwest’s Premiere Horror Convention, FANGORIA is proud to announce the latest batch of updates for the highly-anticipated event.

First up, FANGORIA is excited to announce a brand new guest that will be appearing at this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend: FRIDAY THE 13TH final girl Adrienne King! King has joined the event as a part of Theresa Jara’s Dark Art Show, in which the actress-turned-artist will be presenting her latest artwork. King’s appearance at Texas Frightmare Weekend is sponsored by Steph-N-Robyn’s Sweet Shop; you can find more information about Steph-N-Robyn’s at their official Facebook HERE. As for the rest of the Texas Frightmare Weekend Dark Art Show, notable pieces include Reynold Brown’s original poster for 1955’s cult classic creature feature TARANTULA, an original film costume from Ronald W. Moore’s FUTURE-KILL and even an original oil painting from infamous killer Henry Lee Lucas.

Next, Texas Frightmare Weekend is excited to announce a new slew of screenings, including their first repertory screenings of the event! Taking place the night of Thursday, April 28th, Texas Frightmare Weekend will host two screenings at the Texas Theatre in Dallas (infamously where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested): at 7 p.m., TFW will present Robert Rodriguez’s FROM DUSK TILL DAWN with a live Tom Savini Q&A afterwards, followed by a 35mm screening of Walter Hill’s THE WARRIORS with a live post-screening Q&A with stars Michael Beck and James Remar! In addition to this announcement, FANGORIA also reported earlier this week the addition of Chad Archibald’s body horror film BITE to the current in-convention programming schedule. You can find ticketing information for these screenings HERE.

Furthermore, FANGORIA has the word on Texas Frightmare Weekend’s Friday Night Party, dubbed “The HALLOWEEN Party at Frightmare General Hospital.” Featuring a live DJ, Dance Floor, Costume Contest, a Free Photo Booth, Cash Bar and much more, this party is absolutely free for VIP and Premium Pass Holders, while you can find out admission prices for single, weekend and non-applicable passholders HERE. The HALLOWEEN party will be held at the Aviator’s Room on Friday, April 29th, so don’t miss it!

Lastly, FANGORIA has some odds-and-ends updates for TFW attendees: FANGORIA’s Editor-in-Chief Michael Gingold, Managing Editor Ken W. Hanley and Contributing Writer Madeleine Koestner will be representing FANGORIA at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016. Likewise, FANGORIA can confirm that the cast and crew of LAST GIRL STANDING will indeed be in attendance at the convention in support of the indie psychological horror flick, which will be screening at TFW 2016. And sadly, HANNIBAL fans might be disappointed to hear that Katharine Isabelle has officially cancelled her appearance due to work commitments, although Texas Frightmare Weekend still has more exciting guest announcements to come!

If you’ve yet to get your tickets, make sure to pick them up while you still can at the Texas Frightmare Weekend official website HERE.
