Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016: New Guests, Final Panel Announced!

,,

With only two weeks until the Southwest’s Premiere Horror Convention descends upon the Hyatt Regency DFW in Dallas, Texas, horrorheads are ready to get their macabre minds blown at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016. However, even this close to the highly-anticipated event, FANGORIA has the latest updates on Texas Frightmare Weekend, which includes new guests and the final panel announcement!

While Texas Frightmare Weekend sadly reported that HALLOWEEN star Pamela Susan Shoop will be unable to attend this year’s convention, FANGORIA is pleased to report that a HALLOWEEN all-star will be taking her place: Sheriff Brackett himself, Charles Cyphers, in his final convention appearance! That’s right: not only will the actor (who also appeared in John Carpenter’s ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, THE FOG, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 and ELVIS) be signing for the very last time, but he’ll also be participating on the HALLOWEEN II panel and the HALLOWEEN II photo-op!

Furthermore, since FANGORIA Editor-in-Chief Michael Gingold will be unable to attend as well, Texas Frightmare Weekend and FANGORIA have mutually agreed to cancel the “FANGORIA: Past, Present and Future” panel on Saturday, April 30th. However, in its stead, FANGORIA and Texas Frightmare Weekend are proud to announce the final panel of the convention: “Horror Stunts” with special guests Kane Hodder and Dick Warlock! Moderated by FANGORIA’s Ken W. Hanley, horror fans can get an inside track in the profession of genre stunt work from Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers themselves! The panel will be held on 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th; look out for more details at the event.

Lastly, FANGORIA is excited to announce a special last-minute addition to Texas Frightmare Weekend: filmmaker and comic writer Adam Egypt Mortimer! Mortimer was the writer/director of last year’s brutal indie horror festival favorite SOME KIND OF HATE and a producer/director this year’s horror anthology HOLIDAYS, as well as the writer of Black Mask Comics’ 2015 title BALLISTIC. Mortimer will be appearing courtesy of Vertical Entertainment, who will be selling signed posters for HOLIDAYS (which hits VOD on 4/15 following it’s premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival tomorrow) as well as posters for the Wes Craven-produced THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS (starring TFW guest Mitch Pileggi) and other fright fare exclusively at the FANGORIA booth.

Remember: it’s not too late to get tickets for Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016; you can still pick them up and pre-order photo-ops at TFW’s official website HERE. Be sure to check back for more on Texas Frightmare Weekend before the show starts on April 29th here at FANGORIA.com!
