Take a Virtual Pub Crawl around “THE WORLD’S END’s” Newton Haven
The sleepy English Garden City of Newton Haven specializes in four things: Gardens, Fountains, Roundabouts and Beer. We like it already. Learn about the latter and its infamous Golden Mile Pub Crawl in a sweetly old fashioned Public Information video for THE WORLD’S END.
Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated conclusion to the beloved Cornetto films—which sees him team with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost for a third full length go—may have big sci-fi stakes, but its purported pub crawl seems equally as intense. Twelve pubs, all named and mapped below, show a mile (an enticing one) of suds and buds to prepare for. In the film, “five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
Additionally, a better, photographic look at the pub’s signs are also popping up across the web this week. You can find The First Post below, courtesy of ComingSoon. A sort of scavenger hunt is underway, which seems to lead to some lucky fans seeing the film early at San Diego Comic Con. For more, follow the film at its official Facebook.
