Up-and-coming Director on “SINISTER 2”; Derrickson to Co-Write and ProduceMovies/TV,News Samuel Zimmerman
Scott Derrickson’s chronicle of Mr. Boogie and his multi-generational reign of terror earned a sequel when it became a bonafide horror hit, earning just short of $80 million worldwide. Announced shortly thereafter, little has been officially revealed about the sequel to the creeper, including if the filmmaker himself will return. Today, we’ve learned he will not, instead co-scripting and taking a producing role alongside Jason Blum, as CITADEL director Ciaran Foy comes aboard and makes SINISTER 2 his sophomore feature.
Announced via Derrickson’s Twitter, the SINISTER 2 news is certainly exciting for the many who found CITADEL a strong debut for Foy, who was working through his own former agoraphobia with it. Foy will direct, while original SINISTER writer C. Robert Cargill will pen with Derrickson.
