Seattle: Laughs and Screams at Bonebat Comedy of Horrors Film Fest!Movies/TV,News Fangoria Staff
Bleeding out on Saturday, April 26th, from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Central Cinema, “Seattle’s only dine-in theater”, is the return of the BoneBat ‘Comedy of Horrors’ Film Festival. This year’s fest will include 2 Feature Films, and 30 hand-picked shorts from around the world, all seated within the comedy and/or horror genres, with both features standing as premieres.
US PREMIERE! LOVE BITE – Directed by Andy DeEmmony, starring Ed Speleers, Jessica Szohr and Timothy Spall.
“Summer has begun in the dead-end seaside town of Rainmouth, and Jamie’s friends are happy working in the local pie factory by day, and looking for a shag by night. Jamie, however, is bored out of his mind working at his Mom’s bed and breakfast, until he’s smitten by smart and sexy American traveler Juliana at a party. But soon after Juliana’s arrival, local teens start to go missing, and Jamie is warned by an enigmatic stranger that a werewolf is in town – one who preys solely on virgin flesh! As the locals are picked off one by one, and the boys know that, for all their talk, the werewolf is indeed after them. Pretty soon, everyone is dying to get laid.”
NORTHWEST PREMIERE! HELLBENDERS – Written and Directed by JT Petty, starring Clancy Brown, Clifton Collins, Jr. and Andre Royo.
“There are demons so terrible that no mortal man of God could successfully drive them back to Hell. Thus the Augustine Interfaith Order of Hellbound Saints, or Hellbenders, was formed. A group of elite, highly-trained exorcists, they live in a constant state of debauchery, so they will be ready to go to Hell at any moment. When infernal Norse demon BLACK SURTR escapes into New York City intent on cracking open the gates of Hell, the Hellbenders must use every ounce of their debauchery to battle this malevolent being, and save the planet from eternal damnation!”
These features will accompany the 30 previously announced Official Shorts Selections, which will compete for the annual audience-selected Bonebat Viewers Choice Award for Best Short:
In addition to the above cinematic offerings, the fest will also present a huge prize giveaway from our generous sponsors, a book reading by author G.G. Silverman from her debut young adult novel VEGAN TEENAGE ZOMBIE HUNTRESS, and live music from Spokane nerdcore rap phenomenon Beefy, and Kyle Stevens of Seattle nerd rockers Kirby Krackle, who will serve up songs about the best in comics, pop-culture, and Weird.
The event is rated R for content. Central Cinema does serve wine and beer to attendees of age 21 and over. Mac and Jacks Brewery is once again a sponsor of the event, so we will have specials on African Amber all evening, as well as free chocolate from Dolcetta Artisan Sweets for all attendees.
