“SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES” gets rollingMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
Everyone else is fighting the undead these days, so why not the Boy Scouts? That battle begins today as cameras just started rolling in Los Angeles on the Paramount Pictures horror/comedy SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES.
Christopher Landon, the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise scripter who directed the most recent entry THE MARKED ONES, is at the helm of SCOUTS VS. ZOMBIES and also wrote the final draft of the script previously worked on by Etan Cohen (MEN IN BLACK 3, TROPIC THUNDER) and Lona Williams, from an original screenplay by Emi Mochizuki and Carrie Evans. Tye Sheridan (pictured above), who won praise for his turns in JOE, MUD and THE TREE OF LIFE and co-stars in the upcoming thriller DARK PLACES opposite Christina Hendricks and Chloë Grace Moretz, stars with Logan Miller and newcomer Joey Morgan; the three play scouts about to embark on their last campout together, whose friendship is put to the test when they confront a ghoul outbreak threatening their town. The cast also includes Sarah Dumont, CHEAP THRILLS’ David Koechner, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN’s Cloris Leachman, Halston Sage and Patrick Schwarzenegger, whose dad Arnold has his own youth-oriented zombie film, MAGGIE, currently seeking distribution.
