“ROAD GAMES,” with Barbara Crampton, dated for release, “BACKTRACK” switches, new “NINA FOREVER” posterMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
The early-2016 genre schedule is continuing to fill up, as two international films have new U.S. dates and another has unveiled its latest poster.
Adding to a busy slate, IFC Films has dated writer/director Abner Pastoll’s ROAD GAMES (pictured above) for a March 4 release in select theaters and on VOD. Unrelated to Richard Franklin’s Ozploitation thriller of the same title, it stars Andrew Simpson and KISS OF THE DAMNED’s Joséphine de la Baume as two people who meet while hitchhiking in the South of France while a serial killer is on the loose, and wind up at the house of a mysterious couple (Fango fave Barbara Crampton and Frédéric Pierrot, pictured above).
Meanwhile, Saban Films has moved Michael Petroni’s Australian chiller BACKTRACK up from March 11 to a February 26 theatrical/on-demand date, with an exclusive premiere on DirecTV January 28. Adrien Brody plays a psychiatrist who returns to his hometown and uncovers a ghostly mystery from his past; Sam Neill and THE LOVED ONES’ Robin McLeavy co-star (see our review here). And NINA FOREVER, which Epic Pictures opens for Valentine’s Day weekend February 12, has a new one-sheet you can see below. Scripted and directed by Ben and Chris Blaine, the film focuses on a love triangle between a guy and two girls—one of whom is dead. Look for coverage of all these films on Fangoria.com in the coming weeks.
