“[REC] 4,” “STARRY EYES” and “JIRON” Lead 1st Wave of Mexico’s MORBIDO FEST

Last November, I was privileged to be invited down to Pátzcuaro, Mexico for the annual Mórbido Fest, an all-encompassing celebration of the macabre. With a lineup that spanned all of the Americas and beyond, as well as art exhibits, lucha libre and late night screenings of horror favorites, Mórbido proved another stellar example of a film festival brimming with community, support and enthusiasm. Now, 2014’s edition is rapidly approaching and an exciting First Wave of programming has been revealed.

Mórbido Fest 2014 will take place in Puebla, Mexico, featuring an excellent roster of current festival favorites and highly anticipated premieres. On deck are the likes of folklore-based anthology MEXICO BÁRBARO, severed hand horror comedy BLOODY KNUCKLES, Carlos Enrique Taboada doc JIRON (which we previewed exclusively here), Hollywood horror STARRY EYES, slime mold doc THE CREEPING GARDEN, Jaume Balaguero’s [REC] 4, the acclaimed dark comedy WILD TALES and the world premiere of REVERSAL.

Find the full announcement, below. Morbido Fest is an incredible experience and runs this year from November 13-16. For much more, visit Morbido.
