There’s something for every genre fan in the latest round of titles announced as part of Shout! Factory’s line of Scream Factory Blu-rays and DVDs. The company sent over details and art on Q: THE WINGED SERPENT (pictured above), DARK ANGEL (a.k.a. I COME IN PEACE) and an X-RAY/SCHIZOID double feature.

Q, the Larry Cohen favorite starring Michael Moriarty and David Carradine, in which the flying monster-god Quetzelcoatl (one of the last great traditional stop-motion creatures) nests in the Chrysler Building and terrorizes New York City, makes its Blu-ray debut August 27, with a 1080p high-definition 1.78:1 widescreen transfer and DTS-HD Master Audio. Special features are a new commentary by writer/director/producer Cohen and the theatrical and teaser trailers. The same day sees the Blu-ray premiere of DARK ANGEL, with Dolph Lundgren as a detective taking on a deadly alien in LA, with the same specs accompanied by interviews with director Craig R. Baxley and actors Lundgren and Brian Benben, plus the theatrical trailer. Retail price is $19.97 for each Blu-ray.

A week before on August 20, the Cannon Films productions X-RAY (a.k.a. HOSPITAL MASSACRE) and SCHIZOID arrive, paired in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Boaz Davidson’s X-RAY, one of the great camp classics among the era’s stalker flicks, stars Barbi Benton as a woman trapped in a hospital by a madman who kills everyone else in his path, while David Paulson’s SCHIZOID toplines Klaus Kinski as a psychiatrist whose patients are being threatened and murdered by a mysterious maniac; the eclectic supporting cast includes Christopher Lloyd, ANGEL’s Donna Wilkes, BLOOD BEACH’s Marianna Hill and Craig Wasson from GHOST STORY and BODY DOUBLE. Both movies are presented in 1.78:1 widescreen (1080p hi-def on the Blu-ray), with Dolby Digital stereo sound on the DVD and DTS-HD Master Audio on the Blu-ray. Bonus content includes interviews with Davidson and Wilkes, plus the SCHIZOID theatrical trailer. Retail price is $26.99.
