Oh, crap: “SEPTIC MAN” gets release dates

From the writer of PONTYPOOL, and with one of the same actors, comes the gross-out horror film SEPTIC MAN. We just got word of the movies multimedia debut dates.

SEPTIC MAN will make its VOD debut August 12, hit select theaters August 15 and then see DVD release August 19 (disc details to be announced), all from Starz Digital Media. Produced by the team behind MONSTER BRAWL, EXIT HUMANITY and others, the movie was directed by Jesse Thomas Cook from a script by Tony Burgess, and stars Jason David Brown (winner of Fantastic Fest’s Best Actor in a Horror Feature award), HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN’s Molly Dunsworth, Robert Maillet (MONSTER BRAWL’s Frankenstein), Julian Richings from CUBE and WRONG TURN and PONTYPOOL star Stephen McHattie. The synopsis describes it as “the origin story of Jack, a sewage worker who’s determined to uncover the cause of the town’s water contamination crisis. But when he becomes trapped underground in a septic tank without food or water, he undergoes a hideous and repulsive transformation. In order to escape the tank, he must team up with a docile Giant and confront a murdering madman.” Jason and Jeff Derushie (a.k.a. The Brothers Gore) created the icky makeup FX.
