NY! Tomorrow night, see “KISS OF THE DAMNED” w/ director Q&A for freeContests,Giveaways,Movies/TV,News Samuel Zimmerman
You’ll want to see Xan Cassavetes’ sultry, bloody and Euro-reminiscent vampire feature on the big screen and if you’re in NYC, we can certainly accommodate. Tomorrow night, the film screens with Cassavetes in attendance and Magnolia Pictures and Fango have tickets for five readers and their guests!
I really, really dig this movie. It gets vampires more exhilarating than they’ve been onscreen in quite a while, and while certainly recalling of certain filmmakers, breaks out of just homage thanks to sharp filmmaking and performances. In KISS, “beautiful vampire Djuna (Josephine de La Baume) tries to resist the advances of the handsome, human screenwriter Paolo (Milo Ventimiglia), but eventually gives in to their passion. When her troublemaker sister Mimi (Roxane Mesquida) unexpectedly comes to visit, Djuna’s love story is threatened, and the whole vampire community becomes endangered…”
KISS OF THE DAMNED screens tomorrow night at NY’s Landmark Sunshine Cinema (143 East Houston St) at 7:30 p.m. If you’d like to (and can!) attend, email Sam@Fangoria.com with the subject “Kiss of the Damned” and tell me your favorite classic Euro bloodsucking feature.
