NY! See the original “THE STEPFATHER” in 35mm at Alamo Drafthouse with Fango’s Michael Gingold!

Just in time for Father’s Day, the 1987 psychochiller classic THE STEPFATHER is getting a big-screen booking this month at the New York-area Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, with one of the FANGORIA team hosting!

Directed by Joseph Ruben from a screenplay by veteran crime novelist Donald Westlake, THE STEPFATHER showcases one of the all-time great villainous performances by Terry O’Quinn. Based on the true case of family murderer John List, the film casts the future LOST star as a man whose obsession with the ideal of a “perfect family” has a body count. He’s trying to achieve that bliss with new wife Susan (Shelley Hack) and teen stepdaughter Stephanie (horror sweetheart Jill Schoelen), but when Stephanie becomes suspicious, his dark, maniacal side begins to come out again… THE STEPFATHER screens in 35mm at the Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers, just north of Manhattan (2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY), on Thursday, June 18 at 9 p.m., introduced by Fango’s Michael Gingold. Don’t miss this rare theatrical showing of an ’80s classic! For more info on the screening and to order tickets, click here.
