New York City! Win to see “CHEAP THRILLS” Tonight w/ Pat Healy in attendance!
While E.L. Katz’s tremendous debut CHEAP THRILLS has been on VOD these past few weeks, it is undeniably an audience picture. A horrifying, hilarious and punishing ordeal of escalating madness, the very dark horror-comedy elicits visceral reaction that practically demands a packed house. Luckily, the deserved acclaim its garnering should get asses in seats, selling out auditoriums as the film begins its theatrical roll out from Drafthouse Films.
You won’t have to worry about a sell-out though! Opening in New York City this weekend, FANGORIA has four tickets (two pairs) to the 7:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. shows of CHEAP THRILLS at New York’s Cinema Village (22 East 12th St.), Saturday, March 28 to give away! Not only will you catch a great film, but star Pat Healy will be on hand for Q&As moderated by Kevin Corrigan and Michael Shannon, respectively!
To win a pair of tickets to see CHEAP THRILLS tonight, Saturday March 28th, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with “CHEAP THRILLS” in the subject and tell me the name of Corrigan’s own acclaimed horror-comedy from 2011.
In case you haven’t heard, CHEAP THRILLS stars Pat Healy as Craig (Pat Healy, Compliance), a struggling family man who loses his low-wage job and is threatened with eviction. In an effort to delay facing the music at home, he heads to a local bar and encounters an old friend (Ethan Embry, Empire Records). The two friends are roped into a round of drinks by a charismatic and obscenely wealthy stranger (David Koechner, Anchorman 2) along with his mysterious wife (Sara Paxton, The Innkeepers). The couple engages the two friends in a series of innocent dares in exchange for money over the course of the evening, with each challenge upping the ante in both reward and boundaries. It seems like easy and much needed money, but the couple’s twisted sense of humor pushes just how far Craig and his friend are willing to go for money and cheap thrills.
