New Trailer for Australian Stunner, “THE BABADOOK”
Playing as part of the London’s Film4 FrightFest and Austin’s Fantastic Fest before hitting November 28 from IFC, Sundance hit THE BABADOOK is not only entirely spooky, it’s one of the best films of the year. See a tingler of a new trailer for the shadowy picture, below.
From Australian filmmaker Jennifer Kent, who makes a tremendous debut, THE BABADOOK concerns widowed mother Amelia (Essie Davis) and her wildly misbehaved son Samuel (hey!). “His father’s death in an accident when driving Amelia to the hospital to give birth to him may have something to do with the boy’s unnerving behavior, which scares other children and perhaps even his own mother. But when a sinister children’s book called MISTER BABADOOK mysteriously appears—and keeps reappearing—Amelia begins to wonder if there’s a presence in the house more disturbed than her son.”
THE BABADOOK is truly fantastic, and for once, truly frightening. I’ve been excited for Fango readers to see it since January, and we’re almost there. Take up some of the meantime with this clip, and for more, see our review and early talk with Kent here.
