New Stephen King-based supernatural procedural developing at ABC

Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn, who already toil Stephen King-inspired HAVEN (from his THE COLORADO KID) are, together with ABC Studios arm Division, developing GRAND CENTRAL. Based on the short story, “The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates” from collection JUST AFTER SUNSET, the series is envisioned as a “character-driven procedural with a supernatural twist.”

The original yarn finds a women receiving a phone call from the afterlife, namely from her newly dead husband who correctly predicts two tragedies and in turn, helps her avoid the grave. Would a proposed procedural then follow the woman helping others avoid certain fate, guided from beyond? No further details are currently available, but GRAND CENTRAL is reported as a potential straight-to-series, so we may see it summer 2014. [THR]
