New “PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES” poster is ravishing in red

Sony/Screen Gems has unveiled a striking new “Cameo” poster for its historical horror mashup PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, out next week. Check it out after the jump!

Burr Steers wrote and directed the screen adaptation of the best-selling book, a “collaboration” between modern author Seth Grahame-Smith and classic scribe Jane Austen. The cast is headed by Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance and Lena Headey, with makeup FX supervised by two-time Oscar winner Mark Coulier. The synopsis: “A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th-century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet [James] is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy [Sam Riley] is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper-class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the bloodsoaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.”
