New featurette delves into the Drift of “PACIFIC RIM’s” Jaeger pilots

By now, we know the Jaegers of Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming giant robots vs. giant monsters blockbuster, are piloted in pairs. This is no standard pilot/co-pilot relationship however and a new featurette aims to go beyond the deluge of posters and pictures and explore these fascinating details of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.

A Drift, preceded by a Neural Handshake, finds the pilots of a given Jaeger in total sync. The two share everything about themselves in a neurological connection that allows them to subsequently function as one. Here, del Toro and actors Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Max Martini get into the specifics of it all. It is neat!
