New Details: Genre Vets in “HALLOWEED”, “HIGH ON THE HOG”

Whether it’s teens getting high in a slasher flick or Full Moon’s EVIL BONG franchise, marijuana and the macabre are far from strangers. Now, FANGORIA has a pair of updates regarding two ganja-centric fright flicks coming to a screen near you, courtesy of rising genre actress Fiona Domenica, whom FANGORIA spoke to most recently HERE!

First up is LizRael Lison’s upcoming horror comedy  HALLOWEED, which sports an all-star genre cast, including Danny Trejo (MACHETE), Simon Rex (SCARY MOVIE 3), Jason Mewes (FEAST), Jim O’Heir (MIDDLE MAN), Tom Sizemore (NATURAL BORN KILLERS), Ray Wise (TWIN PEAKS), and Fiona Domenica as the saucy Dr. Quackenbush. Hitting VOD on October 18th, here’s the official synopsis and trailer for HALLOWEED…

Trying to escape the infamy of a serial killer father, Trent Modine and his goof-ball stepbrother Joey, both seeking a new start, find refuge in the small town of Mooseheart. Joey, a complete stoner in a town known for its good weed and stories of the Candy Corn Killer, is a disaster waiting to happen. As you can imagine, it doesn’t take long before the family name catches up. Trent and Joey must figure out how to sort through a string of cliché murders that so happen starts right as they arrive.

Next up, FANGORIA has an update on Tony Wash’s long-anticipated thriller HIGH ON THE HOG, which pits a clan of backwood weed farmers against a renegade cop with a deadly obsession. The final film of MANIAC COP himself, Robert Z’Dar, HIGH ON THE HOG stars Domenica, Sid Haig (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Joe Estevez (SOULTAKER), Jesse C. Boyd (THE WALKING DEAD), and Ellie Church (FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERS), and FANGORIA has the exclusive word that the film is finally gearing for release, with the film’s official trailer hitting next month. Stay tuned for more on HIGH ON THE HOG and Domenica’s other wicked work here at FANGORIA.com!
