NECA Releasing “FRIDAY THE 13TH” Video Game Glow in the Dark Replica Mask

In 2013, NECA got me—the ultimate non-collector—and a whole lot of you goons all riled up when they released a Jason Voorhees figure based on the 1989 FRIDAY THE 13TH Nintendo Game. Purple suited, 8-bit influenced and glow in the dark, the figure held enough power that I saw fit to queue up in the nightmare rows of San Diego Comic-Con. Today, they’ve gone one step further, announcing a full replica Voorhees mask.

“His name was Jason… and this was his mask. Or at least it was in the classic Friday the 13th video game!” NECA writes on their homepage, revealing the glow-in-the-dark hockey mask many of us will be taking home this autumn. The description continues, “This full-size, wearable replica of Jason’s mask is based on the 1989 ‘so-bad-it’s-good’ 8-bit game. The hand-painted reproduction features elastic harness straps that allow you to wear it or hang on the wall — and true to the video game original, it glows in the dark! As a bonus, the mask comes in unique, game-inspired packaging.”

The Glow in the Dark Jason Mask is out this November. Sadly, it’ll miss Halloween, but whatever.. make Thanksgiving one to remember.
