Must-see “CHEAP THRILLS” gets dated for theatrical, VODMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
One of the festival faves of 2013 now has a timetable for general release, as CHEAP THRILLS is coming early next year as part of a new distribution partnership.
Drafthouse Films announced today that it has paired up with Cinedigm, which will release its movies across all home entertainment platforms, including DVD/Blu-ray, broadcast television, subscription VOD, cable VOD and digital venues. First up is CHEAP THRILLS, the directorial debut of E.L. Katz, which Drafthouse snapped up following its premiere at Austin, TX’s SXSW fest, where it received the Midnighter Audience Award; the movie will receive VOD release in January followed by theatrical play in February. Pat Healy, his INNKEEPERS co-star Sara Paxton, Ethan Embry and David Koechner star in this gruesomely black comedy about two reunited friends who undergo a series of bizarre, violent challenges to win money from a twisted, wealthy couple.
