Kier-La Janisse is a writer and film programmer based in Montreal, Canada. She is the Director of The Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies, Web Director at Fangoria.com, and a film curator for POP Montreal and SF Indie. She has been a programmer for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Fantastic Fest in Austin, founded the CineMuerte Horror Film Festival in Vancouver and co-founded Montreal's Blue Sunshine Psychotronic Film Centre. She is the author of A Violent Professional: The Films of Luciano Rossi (FAB Press, 2007) and House of Psychotic Women: An Autobiographical Topography of Female Neurosis in Horror and Exploitation Films (FAB Press, 2012).

FANGORIA Magazine wants to send a slew of our Montreal-based fans to see director Fede Alvarez’s reboot of Sam Raimi’s cult classic EVIL DEAD.
Produced by Raimi, Robert Tapert and original DEAD series star Bruce Campbell, the new EVIL DEAD is a hotly anticipated horror film, filled with—as was its predecessor—go-for-broke gore and nightmarish imagery. And if you live in Montreal we’re going to give you the chance to see it early, at a special advance screening at 7:00pm on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at Montreal’s Scotiabank Theatre.
