Mondo releasing “HERE COMES THE DEVIL” on VinylBooks/Art/Culture,News Samuel Zimmerman
As the vinyl resurgence continues, it isn’t just remastered favorites being reissued, but contemporary standouts, as well. Earlier this year, Mondo (the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible arts arm) released Rob’s fantastic MANIAC score, as well as Mike Shinoda and Joseph Trapanese’s work for THE RAID and Eugenio Mira’s TIMECRIMES score. Today, they’ve announced they’re kicking off 2014 with the release of HERE COMES THE DEVIL, Julio Pillado’s music for the newly released Adrian Garcia Bogliano-directed film.
Out on January 24 on vinyl, but available digitally beginning December 17, HERE COMES THE DEVIL is packaged with its excellent poster art. Bogliano says, ““As a collector of soundtracks I’m absolutely thrilled to have Mondo releasing this score. Not only are they one of the greatest labels in the world for soundtracks but they’re also showing once again that they’re bold and they have a unique vision by releasing an album made almost entirely by independent artists from Tijuana. I was always confident of the talent of everyone involved in the score and this is an amazing opportunity to show the work of a bunch of exciting new musicians.”
You can pick up HERE COMES THE DEVIL at MondoTees on January 24. The album will fetch $20. For more on the excellent HERE COMES THE DEVIL, see our Chris Alexander’s review, and pick up FANGORIA #329 (on sale now) for a talk with star Francisco Barreiro.
