With boutique Blu-ray distributors coming out with new exciting announcements every day, it’s an exciting time to be a horror cinema connoisseur especially since the physical media marketplace becomes riskier and riskier. Now, it’s time to ramp up that excitement even further, as FANGORIA has a pair of eerie updates regarding classic scare fare coming to the HD format!
First, Mill Creek Entertainment has announced a pair of William Castle “Double Feature” Blu-rays, offering four of his most beloved fright titles. The double features include a 2-pack of MR. SARDONICUS and HOMICIDAL and a 2-pack of 13 GHOSTS and 13 FRIGHTENED GIRLS! Extras (if any) are unknown at this point, but keep a careful eye for these discs when they hit shelves on July 5th.
Meanwhile, Twilight Time recently announced their upcoming summer slate, featuring a pair of titles worth watching for! The first is the Vincent Price/Diana Rigg vehicle THEATRE OF BLOOD from director Douglas Hickox, one of Price’s most critically acclaimed and beloved films. Meanwhile, Twilight Time also announced that Paul Schrader’s unforgettable thriller HARDCORE will be joining their roster this summer as well, and they are also planning an “Encore Edition” release for Sam Peckinpah’s underrated masterpiece, BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA! All three titles will be going for TT’s standard $29.99 Blu-ray price, and will be released on August 16th.
