“MANIAC COP 2” Blu-ray/DVD dated, extras revealed!

One of the best in the annals of modern slasher sequels, MANIAC COP 2 is making its long, long-overdue U.S. disc debut in November, and we’ve got the full details and cover art to share.

Directed, like its predecessor, by William Lustig from a script by Larry Cohen, MANIAC COP 2 has the butcher in blue (Robert Z’Dar) taking on Robert Davi, Claudia Christian and Bruce Campbell while continuing his mission of vengeance from beyond the grave, teaming up with a living, breathing serial killer played by Leo Rossi. Blue Underground releases it on a Blu-ray/DVD combo November 19, with a new 4K high-definition transfer from the original negative supervised by cinematographer James Lemmo, in 16×9-enhanced 1.85:1 widescreen with DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio (plus the original Dolby Surround track), enhanced for D-Box motion-control systems. The extras include:

• Theatrical trailers

Retail price is $29.98; theatrical midnight screenings of the film prior to the street date are also being planned. A double-disc release of MANIAC COP 3: BADGE OF SILENCE hits the same day; come back tomorrow for complete info on that one!
