Magnet gets Jerome Sable’s Musical Horror “STAGE FRIGHT”

Today’s SXSW 2014 Midnighters announcement came with what looks like an incredibly strong lineup, and one particularly exciting inclusion is that of Jerome Sable’s STAGE FRIGHT. The feature debut of Sable, STAGE FRIGHT follows his breakout short film THE LEGEND OF BEAVER DAM, a highly rewatchable campfire-set musical/horror hybrid. On the heels of the announcement, and even before SXSW begins, the also musical/horror hybrid full length has been acquired for distribution.

Genre mavens Magnet have picked up STAGE FRIGHT, and have already set the film for release on iTunes and VOD April 3rd and in limited theatrical release May 9th. The film, starring Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, “tells the story of a snobby musical theater camp terrorized by a bloodthirsty masked killer who despises musical theatre.”

Director Sable says, “I am honored that they’re helping me with my lifelong dream of bringing bloodthirsty gorehounds and musical theatre geeks a little bit closer together.”
