Madmen and “MAD MAX” on 35mm at Hudson Horror Show IX in NY!

The next edition of the one-day fright festival known as the Hudson Horror Show is offering six movies for the price of five to terrorize New York-area fans in 35mm! Read on for all the details.

Celebrating their fifth anniversary, the organizers have put together an especially bloody bill for Hudson Horror Show IX, sponsored by The B Movie Film Vault and taking place Saturday, August 9 at Poughkeepsie, NY’s Empire South Hills 8 (1895 South Road). On the bill are William Lustig’s stalk-and-scalp favorite MANIAC, starring Joe Spinell (pictured above); a 35th-anniversary showing of George Miller’s original violence-on-the-road classic MAD MAX; an uncut international print of the summer-camp slasher THE BURNING, with all of Tom Savini’s graphic FX intact; the utterly insane Indonesian knockoff LADY TERMINATOR; and not one but two mystery movies, all on 35mm prints! There will also be trailer reels, trivia/giveaways and vendor tables. Doors open at noon, and advance tickets can be ordered at Hudson Horror’s official website; they can also be purchased (if any remain!) at the door on the day of the show for $30. You’d be crazy to miss this one!
