“MAD MEN’s” Harris to be Haunted House Cleaner in new “POLTERGEIST”

To imitate Zelda Rubinstein would be pure nonsense. Thus, it seems in updating the modern classic POLTERGEIST, director Gil Kenan is instead incorporating the current glut of dopey “real haunting” tv shows and bringing in Jared Harris as one’s host.

Deadline is reporting Harris (incredible as Lane Pryce on MAD MEN) has joined the film as Carrigan, the host of a show called “Haunted House Cleaners.” It seems the character was previously an academic, but found fame as a showboat the basic cable series. Harris joins the confirmed Rosemarie DeWitt (also a MAD MEN alum) and a rumored Sam Rockwell in the remake. POLTERGEIST is being officially described as “a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.”

Harris will also be seen in the upcoming Hammer haunter, THE QUIET ONES.
