Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone and more join Nicolas Winding Refn’s “NEON DEMON”

The soon-to-roll horror film from DRIVE and ONLY GOD FORGIVES’ Nicolas Winding Refn is described as a “subversive female-driven horror tale,” and more actresses have came aboard the project, along with its first announced male co-star.

Variety reports that previously announced Elle Fanning and Abbey Lee will be joined by Keanu Reeves (also soon to be seen in Eli Roth’s KNOCK KNOCK), THE HUNGER GAMES’ Jena Malone, MAD MEN’s Christina Hendricks and DARK SHADOWS’ Bella Heathcote in Refn’s THE NEON DEMON, which begins shooting March 30. Also revealed are some of Refn’s behind-the-scenes collaborators on the film, including cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd (an Oscar nominee for THE GRANDMASTER) and previous Refn collaborators Matthew Newman as editor and Cliff Martinez as composer. THE NEON DEMON, about an aspiring model plunged into a horrific situation, is being financed by Gaumont and Wild Bunch, which are currently negotiating with U.S. distributors.
