Karyn Kusama, who broke out with GIRLFIGHT and helmed the way unfairly maligned, underrated, undervalued JENNIFER’S BODY is returning to genre with THE INVITATION, set to be her first feature since the 2009 Megan Fox starrer.

The Wrap reports Logan Marshall-Green (PROMETHEUS, THE O.C.) and Marieh Delfino will star in the film alongside Tammy Blanchard, John Carroll Lynch and Michelle Krusiec. THE INVITATION finds Marhsall-Green play “a man faced with mounting evidence that something sinister has taken hold of his ex-wife, who is hosting a dinner party that harbors a terrifying agenda.”

In addition to THE INVITATION, Kusama is also taking part in the upcoming  XYZ Films (who’s also involved with THE INVITATION) and Dark Sky-produced horror anthology XX, which sees segments from some of the genre’s top female directors. That lineup includes Kusama, Jovanka Vuckovic (THE CAPTURED BIRD), the Soska Sisters (AMERICAN MARY), Mary Harron (AMERICAN PSYCHO) and Jennifer Lynch (SURVEILLANCE).
