Jorge Grau leads anthology of Mexican legend, “MÉXICO BARBARO”
An ensemble of eight Mexican genre filmmakers are uniting to celebrate the traditions, folklore and legends which ignite nightmares at home in anthology MÉXICO BARBARO.
Rooted in Mexican culture and spanning rural and urban, as well as contemporary and ancient, fears alike, MÉXICO BARBARO will highlight the work of Isaac Ezban (NASTY STUFF, the upcoming THE INCIDENT), Laurette Flores, WE ARE WHAT WE ARE’s Jorge Michel Grau, Ulises Guzmán, Edgar Nito, Lex Ortega (who made the unsettling Mother’s Blessing for the ABCs OF DEATH 2 competition), Gigi Saul Guerrero and Aaron Soto.
The eight stories within include that of a young girl who witnesses her brother’s kidnapping, but can’t adequately communicate; a child who drains her mother of blood to feed her friend; a “Day of the Dead” celebration in a strip club with ulterior motives; trolls that attack a couple on vacation; hanging dolls with secrets and more.
