Jamie Lee Curtis to lead Ryan Murphy Horror-Comedy Series, “SCREAM QUEENS”

SCREAM QUEENS, the upcoming series in which Ryan Murphy purports to invent horror-comedy (or comedy-horror), has found its leads in an AHS alum and the most iconic final girl of all.

Deadline reports SCREAM QUEENS will star HALLOWEEN’s Jamie Lee Curtis and AMERICAN HORROR STORY’s Emma Roberts in a 15-episode first season created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Fox will air the series about murders on a college campus. A more detailed synopsis isn’t available as of yet, but surely the hope is there that Curtis will assume a sort of Queen Bee role not unlike what Murphy has created for Jessica Lange in the various seasons of AMERICAN HORROR STORY and Jane Lynch in GLEE.

No word on the fate of, or how this affects, Curtis’ reported reteaming with HALLOWEEN: H20 director Steve Miner on the developing ABC Family show, THE FINAL GIRLS. That series was to focus on “a group of girls who have, in essence, survived their own personal horror stories and are brought together by a mysterious older woman (Curtis) to channel the stress and scars of their experience for some greater good.”
