“INSIDIOUS” kid to journey to “JURASSIC WORLD”

After surviving two trips to The Further, a rising young actor is getting ready to confront digitally created dinosaurs in 3D.

Deadline broke the news that Ty Simpkins, who played the haunted Dalton Lambert in James Wan’s INSIDIOUS and reprised that part in this year’s INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, has landed a lead role in JURASSIC WORLD, the latest in Steven Spielberg’s prehistoric franchise. Bryce Dallas Howard and NEW GIRL’s Jake Johnson have also been talked up for big parts in the dinosaur epic, but have yet to be confirmed. Colin Trevorrow, who helmed the highly regarded independent time-travel film SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED, is directing JURASSIC WORLD, and he and Derek Connolly rewrote the original script by RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and THE RELIC’s Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Spielberg is producing with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley; Simpkins previously acted for the former in WAR OF THE WORLDS and also had a key role in IRON MAN 3. The latest JURASSIC adventure will be shot in 3D and is set for Universal release June 12, 2015.
