Toronto: HORROR-RAMA Announces “SUSPIRIA” Star Barbara Magnolfi in First Canadian Con Appearance

Toronto-based horror convention HORROR-RAMA, a two-day fan event happening in Toronto, Canada this November 1-2, 2014 (check out the preliminary news item here) has just announced its latest guest, a veteran star of Italian horror in her FIRST CANADIAN APPEARANCE!

HORROR-RAMA is stoked to be bringing the beautiful Barbara Magnolfi to Toronto! Magnolfi of course, famously played the icy Olga in Dario Argento’s 1977 masterpiece SUSPIRIA. But she also starred in the ultra-lurid 1978 sexploitation giallo THE SISTER OF URSULA and has worked with everyone from Sergio Martino to Ruggero Deodato; Magnolfi embodies the erotic allure of the Italian horror film…

Magnolfi joins George Mihalka (MY BLOODY VALENTINE), actress Lesleh Donaldson (CURTAINS, DEADLY EYES) and the First Lady of Gothic Italian horror, Barbara Steele; pioneering shock rocker Nivek Ogre, of the industrial performance-art band Skinny Puppy; psychosexual horror author Michael Slade (HEADHUNTER, GHOUL); filmmaker and author Jovanka Vuckovic (JACQUELINE ESS); FX legend, actor and filmmaker, Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD, MANIAC); British born, Toronto based FX artist Paul Jones (NIGHTBREED, SILENT HILL, NURSE 3D); FRANKENHOOKER starlet Patty Mullen; costume designer Alex Kavanagh (SAW, GINGER SNAPS, LAND OF THE DEAD, REPO!) and former Tim Burton muse, actress Lisa Marie (SLEEPY HOLLOW, ED WOOD, MARS ATTACKS!).

The brainchild of Toronto cult cinema institution SUSPECT Video and its owner Luis Ceriz and FANGORIA editor Chris Alexander, HORROR-RAMA is a niche convention, bringing together legends of horror cinema and dark pop culture for an intimate and interactive couple of days in the heart of the city.

VIP Ticket packages are now available here. More guests will be announced over the next several weeks, so stay tuned and be sure to visit the HORROR-RAMA Facebook page for even more details as well as HORROR-RAMA.
