“GRACE” director to chronicle a “DARK SUMMER”

It looks as if we’ll finally be getting a follow-up from Paul Solet, who so impressively debuted with the unsettling childbirth tale GRACE.

Pitching at the upcoming Cannes Film Market, DARK SUMMER sounds something of a haunter as a home alone (and under house arrest) 17 year-old is plagued by strange occurrences. Mike Le, who created web series K-TOWN, wrote while production banner Content, who just had THE MACHINE and MR. JONES at Tribeca, will produce.

While production is not slated to get underway until fall, it unsurprisingly sounds as if they’re already hoping for DARK SUMMER to not stand alone. Content’s Jamie Carmichael says, “We’re so excited to be working with him [Solet] and our partners at Preferred on such a cool movie. We’re building a really first class business together, and DARK SUMMER looks like yet another great franchise starter.”
