Full Blu-ray/DVDetails: “BURNING” and “TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN”

Two cult-favorite psycho-killers from decades past are coming back in spiffed-up disc presentations, and the full contents of both releases have been revealed.

Shout! Factory issues 1981’s future-star-stocked slasher feature THE BURNING (pictured above) and 1977’s fact-based THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN on Blu-ray/DVD combo packs May 21. In THE BURNING, an early production of Miramax’s Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Jason Alexander, Fisher Stevens and Holly Hunter are among those facing the murderous shears of the disfigured killer Cropsy (face and handiwork created by Tom Savini), while TOWN, directed and produced by Charles B. Pierce, chronicles the “Phantom Killer” who terrorized Texarkana and was hunted by Texas Ranger J.D. Morales (played by Ben Johnson). Both movies will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, with the following extras:
