FREE FANGORIA Screening of UK zombie flick “STALLED” in Dallas!
Don’t go in the bathroom! There are zombies in there! FANGORIA will be hosting a free advance screening of the UK horror comedy STALLED in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, October 3 at 7 pm! From the creators of the festival fave FREAK OUT (director Christian James and screenwriter Dan Palmer), STALLED—about a poor janitor stuck in a public toilet during a zombie apocalypse—won raves at its London FrightFest premiere last month. See below on how to get your tickets!
STALLED’s Southwest premiere will be held at Dallas’ legendary Alamo Drafthouse (Richardson location, 100 South Central Expressway, 534-2120). To obtain tickets to the big Texas preview, send an e-mail to email@example.com. You must list “STALLED” as your subject line.
If this doesn’t have you jumping in the graveyard yet, here’s STALLED’s official synopsis: It’s Christmas Eve and a soon-to-be-fired janitor named W.C (Palmer) is nearing the end of his shift. His work in the women’s restroom is interrupted by two drunken partiers, and he finds himself trapped in a stall. Just as the girls are about to make out, in a flash one of them turns into a zombie and launches at the other chick, tearing her apart. W.C is trapped as more and more zombies enter the restroom. He is not alone though, as Evie (Tamaryn Payne of SMALL TOWN FOLK), the office hottie, is two stalls down. Together they plan an escape, and soon the blood is flowing and body parts are flying…
For this free screening, offer is good for you and one guest. Names will be checked at the door. Offer is first come, first served, and we will confirm your rsvp. Seating is not guaranteed, however. This advance preview is presented by Uncork’d Entertainment, who releases STALLED to Video On Demand October 4.
SCREEN INTERNATIONAL writer Kim Newman called STALLED a “worthy successor to SHAUN OF THE DEAD,” and reviewing the film out of FrightFest, the genre website You’ve Got Red on You said STALLED rates as the “first and probably biggest ‘sleeper’ hit of the festival. This is the best comedy-horror since SHAUN OF THE DEAD.” Film Juice summed up STALLED by noting, “It’s remarkable the number of scenes that manage to be intense, scary, funny and heartrending at the same time.”
You can watch the STALLED trailer below and visit the official Facebook page here. See you at the STALLED show on October 3! It’s gonna be a ghoulish good time!
