For rabbit slasher fans: Exclusive clip from “BUNNYMAN MASSACRE”Movies/TV,News Michael Gingold
The Bunnyman is back and we’ve got him in an exclusive clip from the second feature based on true accounts (no kidding!) of a man in a bunny suit who went on an ax-toting rampage in Virginia in 1970.
Hopping onto DVD and VOD August 12 from Midnight Releasing, BUNNYMAN MASSACRE is writer/director Carl Lindbergh’s sequel to his 2011 flick BUNNYMAN. “Inspired by the fans’ requests, BUNNYMAN 2, a.k.a. BUNNYMAN MASSACRE, was born,” Lindbergh says. “With MASSACRE, we were able to realize the potential of BUNNYMAN 1, and at the same time create a franchise that will continue with BUNNYMAN 3, which is currently in production. What I appreciate with BUNNYMAN MASSACRE is that we were able to make a film that really stands apart from all the countless slasher films, and deliver a film that is very unique.” British fans take note: the original movie was issued in the UK as BUNNYMAN MASSACRE, so don’t confuse that with this follow-up.
The synopsis: “Joe and Bunnyman’s adventure continues in a rural ghost town. Bunnyman’s bloodlust knows no bounds, as he slaughters indiscriminately anything that crosses his path. Joe is all too happy to encourage his behavior, selling the dead victims as beef jerky in his local store. A mutually beneficial relationship with cracks that start to emerge. As the bodies pile up, including a couple dozen kids in a school bus, Bunnyman’s body count is becoming more problematic. Joe is forced with disposing of the bodies, by any means necessary. A problem he exasperates [sic] by occasionally joining in on the rampage. In addition to Joe’s body disposal problem, the local sheriff becomes suspicious with the disappearance of a few of his deputies. His investigation crosses paths with two persistent sisters, who refuse to die at the hands of Joe and Bunnyman. Some will live, and some will die, but all will be damaged.”
