Flesh Frisbees attack! Scream Factory “WITHOUT WARNING” Blu-ray/DVDetails and artMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
One of the most unusual alien weapons ever is showcased in Greydon Clark’s 1980 horror film WITHOUT WARNING, which has waited three decades for legit home-video release and finally arrives in August. Full specs have been revealed, so see ’em plus the cover art after the jump.
Shout! Factory releases WITHOUT WARNING in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack under its Scream Factory banner August 5. Clark’s film anticipates the human-hunting premise of PREDATOR (complete with that film’s Kevin Peter Hall in the extraterrestrial outfit), as an extraterrestrial stalks its prey in the California wilderness, taking them down with flying weapons resembling fleshy, tentacled Frisbees. The cast includes Oscar winners Jack Palance and Martin Landau, other veterans like Cameron Mitchell, Neville Brand, Sue Ane Langdon, Ralph Meeker and Larry Storch, future star David Caruso and Tarah Nutter, Christopher S. Nelson and Lynn Theel; this was an early makeup FX credit for Greg Cannom, who would also go on to Academy Awards glory. The movie will be presented in 1.85:1 widescreen (1080p hi-def on the Blu-ray), accompanied by the following extras:
• Audio commentary by producer/director Clark
• New interviews with cinematographer Dean Cundey, co-writer/co-producer Daniel Grodnik, Cannom, Nelson and Nutter
• Theatrical trailer
• Still gallery
• Reversible cover art
