Fantastic New Zealand Horror Comedy, “HOUSEBOUND” Coming to U.S.

Gerard Johnstone’s feature debut HOUSEBOUND was, for many (including myself), the surprise of SXSW. A fantastically crafted, hilarious and properly creepy horror-comedy, the film is a genuine crowdpleaser and thanks to XLrator Media and its label MACABRE, will please genre audiences in the U.S. this fall.

In HOUSEBOUND, Morgana O’Reilly stars as young troublemaker Kylie, who’s sentenced to house arrest after a botched robbery. At home, she’s forced into close quarters with a chatty Kathy of a Mom, who also happens to believe the place is haunted. Creaks, frights and hijinks ensue. It’s great fun, and will hopefully cultivate a strong following when it hits.
