Fantasia festival 2014: Dates set, movies sought!Movies/TV,News Michael Gingold
Montreal’s Fantasia international film festival is devoted to showcasing and discovering a wide range of new and exciting genre fare, and the 18th edition has been dated and opened for submissions so that your movie can be one of them.
The next Fantasia will take place July 17-August 5, and the organizers have opened their call for entries. As they put it, “We’re currently on the lookout for features and shorts to showcase at next summer’s event. What exactly are we looking for? While predominantly a fantastic film festival, Fantasia has always embraced films whose sheer individuality puts them in a genre of their own. If you’re not sure whether your film is right for us, consider that we’ve showcased everything from captivating dramas, eccentric comedies, provocative documentaries, mind-blowing experimental works, musicals, even atypical children’s films. In other words, set our minds’ eyes on fire and we’ll do everything possible to get your film seen.”
Any film produced in the past 18 months is eligible, and entry fees are low, with no charge for Canadian productions. You can find out more by clicking here, and peruse the Fantasia 2013 website here.
