FANGORIA SCREAMERS: Check out the exclusive online premiere of Jason Noto’s LA RICETTA!
The third installment in Fangoria.com’s monthly SCREAMERS online short film series comes to us from guest curator Mitch Davis, Co-Director and Head of International Programming for the Fantasia International Film Festival .
Directed by Jason Noto | USA 2012 | 5min.
Original Fantasia programme notes by Mitch Davis – “A young boy comes to terms with death by way of a morbidly fantastical interpretation of the horrors of cooking. An extraordinary and surprising piece of work that will forever distort the way you look at food preparation — “the joy of the earth”.
I’ve always felt that the online short film viewing experience is best suited to works that are gripping from their first frames and run five minutes or less. If they can pack a visceral punch that just might have viewers passing out cold, faces smashing through displays in a hail of broken glass, broken minds and pulverized LCD diodes, all the better. The grotesque and extraordinary LA RICETTA happily checks all said boxes. Berlin Talent Campus alumni Jason Noto is a filmmaker that Fantasia has been following for years. You’re about to see why. We dare you to hit “play”. Do it. Now. – Mitch Davis, Co-Director, Fantasia Film Festival
