One of the year’s best horror films and one of the best genre remakes ever is coming home early next year, and we’ve got the scoop on the disc contents and a look at the cover.
Entertainment One will release WE ARE WHAT WE ARE, Jim Mickle’s remake of the Mexican cannibalism drama, January 7 on DVD and Blu-ray. Scripted by Mickle and co-star Nick Damici, the movie focuses on the Parker family—father (Bill Sage), two teenaged daughters (Ambyr Childers and Julia Garner) and young son (Jack Gore)—and their struggles to keep their generations-old ritual a secret in a rural New York town. The distributor gave us the first word that the discs’ widescreen transfers will be accompanied by the making-of documentary “An Acquired Taste,” interviews with Mickle, Sage and Garner and more. Retail prices are $24.98 for the DVD, $29.98 for the Blu-ray; see our review of the film here and track back through video interviews with the filmmakers and cast starting here.
