Exclusive Trailer: Found Footage Frightener “THE FINAL PROJECT”Home,Movies/TV,News Ken W. Hanley
With the increasingly saturated VOD market turning the horror business into one of the most crowded in the industry, it’s always a bit refreshing to see an independent film find alternate methods of distribution. This is especially more refreshing when that alternate method of distribution is theatrical, as experiencing horror in a theater is an experience unmatched at home viewing. It’s even more refreshing when that gamble is taken on a truly independent project, which is why the announcement of CAVU Pictures’ release strategy for Taylor Ri’chard’s debut feature THE FINAL PROJECT is one worth remembering. And luckily for our readers, FANGORIA has the exclusive first trailer for THE FINAL PROJECT, which you can see below!
For those unfamiliar with THE FINAL PROJECT, here’s the official synopsis…
Six college students have organized the ultimate graduation project… a documentary film about one of the most notorious haunted houses in America, the Lafitte Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana. A Civil War landmark with a dark past, complete with stories of mutilated soldiers, murdered families and restless shadows roaming its abandoned corridors… no one has entered Lafitte in years- until now. Outfitted with high-tech recording equipment in order to capture every moment of their great adventure, these intrepid young filmmakers bravely venture deep into the misty backwoods of Louisiana. But on this plantation that time has forgotten, something evil still waits and watches. When darkness falls, their deepest fears come to life, as one by one they’ll learn the horrifying truth that awaits all who dare seek the secrets of the Lafitte Plantation. The dead are awake, and there are some places the living should never go.
Distributor CAVU Pictures will release THE FINAL PROJECT beginning Feb 12th, 2016 on multiple screens in Atlanta (Regal Hollywood 24 & Regal Mall of Georgia 20) and in Houston (at the Regal Greenway) before expanding into additional cities including New York, Los Angeles, Lafayette, LA and college towns throughout March and April.
